Two hundred and fifty years ago, this region stood at the cutting edge of the fight for American independence. Lake Champlain was the highway, the strategy, and the lifeline — and the communities along its shores were right in the middle of it. This July 4th, we’re celebrating that history the Essex way: by getting outside, gathering together, and running (or walking) through the same beautiful landscape where it all unfolded. Welcome to the Essex Revolution Run/Walk 250 — a professionally chip-timed 4-mile race celebrating community, fresh Adirondack air, working farmland, and a finish that leads straight into one of the best small-town Fourth of July celebrations around.
