5k for 5p – Pikeville, NC 2026

5k for 5p- is a run/walk to promote awareness for Cri du Chat Syndrome. All are welcome to participate no matter age, pace, ability, etc. Strollers are encouraged on the course and dogs are also welcome! 5p-, or Cri du Chat Syndrome, is a rare genetic deletion disorder in which a portion of the short arm of chromosome 5 is missing. This results in varying degrees of delayed development and low muscle tone, among other characteristics. May 5 has been declared Cri du Chat Day and the week that surrounds May 5 is considered Cri du Chat Awareness Week. Registration Fee $30 A T-shirt is included with registration, but not guaranteed after April 17th.
