The Pacific Coast Triathlon invites athletes of all ages and abilities — from first-timers to seasoned competitors — to experience one of Southern California’s most scenic and celebrated races at the stunning Crystal Cove State Beach. Start your day with a refreshing open-water swim in the Pacific Ocean right at Crystal Cove State Beach. Full lifeguard support and typically comfortable wave conditions make this leg welcoming for every level. Choose the Sprint (½ mile / ~750 m) or Olympic (1,500 m). Next, tackle the bike on a fully closed, rolling course along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway. Enjoy sweeping ocean views as you ride two loops for the Sprint (12 miles) or four loops for the Olympic (40K / ~24.8 miles). The run winds along the gorgeous Crystal Cove Trail and paths, with panoramic ocean views on one side and Pacific Coast Highway on the other. You’ll pass through the historic beach cottages, and — when tides allow — enjoy a memorable stretch right along the sand before clim
