This special event honors the legacy of Joe Tassone—a retired Air Force E-9 Master Sergeant and beloved local running coach who dedicated nearly two decades to mentoring and inspiring runners throughout the community. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just looking for a fun, family-friendly event, the JT-5000 has something for everyone. Choose from the Team Red, White, and Blue 5K, the Aim High 1 Mile, or take on the ultimate challenge with the One Medal Combo—where you’ll run both races and earn a combined time (and serious bragging rights!). In addition to bragging rights, the One Medal Combo is offering a $400 winner-take-all prize for the first place male and female competitors. Younger runners can join the excitement in the Kids K, making this a perfect event for all ages and abilities. All races take place within the grounds of Expo New Mexic
