We’re Back! Join Us for the 5th Annual 5K for FOXP1! Hosted by the International FOXP1 Foundation We're thrilled to launch the fifth annual 5K for FOXP1 Syndrome Awareness, bringing together participants from around the world to raise awareness and fund critical research into FOXP1 Syndrome. What is FOXP1 Syndrome? FOXP1 Syndrome is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a mutation or change in the FOXP1 gene, located on chromosome 3. This gene plays a key role in the development and function of the nervous system and other body systems by regulating the activity of other genes. When FOXP1 doesn’t function as it should, it can lead to a broad range of developmental challenges and medical needs. About Us. The International FOXP1 Foundation is a nonprofit organization. The International FOXP1 Foundation is committed to building a global community that empowers and supports families and individuals with FOXP1 syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by delays in early motor and language milestones, mild-to-severe intellectual deficits, speech and language impairment and behavior abnormalities, by sharing knowledge, inspiring hope, encouraging research, and raising awareness. Let us come together to raise awareness for our loved ones with FOXP1 Syndrome. This is a time for us to celebrate their successes and the joys that they bring to our lives, while also teaching our communities about FOXP1 Syndrome. How to Participate 🏃‍♀️: Complete your 5K anytime during September 1 to 30 🌍 We’re offering two ways to participate again this year: - Join virtually from wherever you are - Take part in a local in-person event hosted by a community volunteer How to get involved: - Sign up as an individual - Start a team or join an existing team - Make a donation to support the cause Everyone is welcome, so invite your friends, family, coworkers, and supporters to join the fun and make an impact together.
