Instead of a registration fee, participants support the event by donating school supplies to help local students and classrooms. The event includes a free community Health Fair featuring wellness resources, youth programs, public safety outreach, giveaways, and family-friendly activities while the 5k is occurring. The race will be officially timed by IAAPWEB, with medals awarded to top finishers in each category. Participants registering after the first 500 spots are still welcome to participate by bringing a school supply donation of any value on event day. Non-runners and Health Fair guests are also welcome to donate school supplies during the event or drop off donations early at any San Antonio Police Department substations; however, early drop-offs do not count toward a registered runner’s required packet pickup donation.
