From the Race Organizer
Our Mountain Home community has recently faced devastating wildfires that displaced families, destroyed homes, and disrupted lives across the region. In response, Youth Rising is launching Hope Rises , a virtual community service and fundraising campaign focused on one simple idea: Challenge People to Serve! This is not a race. This is a call for communities, families, businesses, churches, schools, and individuals to step forward and help however they can. Participants are encouraged to complete acts of service throughout the campaign by: Volunteering , Supporting displaced families , Donating supplies , Serving neighbors , Encouraging youth, Organizing local projects , Raising funds , Sharing stories of hope and resilience , Etc. Every act of service becomes part of a larger movement to help Mountain Home recover stronger together. About Youth Rising Youth Rising exists to create safe, supportive environments where young people can find connection, mentorship, opportunity, and hope. Following the wildfire disaster, Youth Rising is committed to supporting transitional-age youth and their families experiencing instability, stress, displacement, and hardship caused by the fires. Funds raised through the Hope Rises campaign will directly support programs and services that help young people and families navigate recovery and rebuild stability during a difficult season. Why This Matters Disasters affect more than homes and property. They impact emotional wellbeing, stability, relationships, and a young person’s sense of security and future. For many youth, especially transitional-age youth, crises like these can create: Housing insecurity , Increased anxiety and isolation , Interrupted support systems , Financial hardship , Loss of community connection , Uncertainty about the future . Now is the time for communities to rise together. Hope Rises exists to remind young people and families that they are not alone, and remind them of the power in them to Thrive in their personal lives and be a positive force within their communities. How to Participate Participants can join from anywhere by: Registering as an individual or Family - Create a Fundraising Team - Share your involvement online - Sign on as a Sponsor - Purchase gear from our online store ! Every action matters! Whether you serve one person or mobilize an entire team, you are helping rebuild our Mountain Home.
