Welcome to the Captain of the Castle , an unsanctioned relay race in the heart of Boston, presented by Endorphins Running and New Balance. As the sun sets over Boston, runners will speed around one of the most storied loops in the city: the perimeter of the Castle Island harbor loop. Four runners, one mile each, to determine who will be the Captain of the Castle. This is a night to bring the running communities of Boston together. Grab your crew of four and register as a relay team, or sign up solo and we'll place you on a mixed-club team. There will be many ways to win, see if your team can snag a top prize: Captain of the Castle - Fastest Overall Team Fastest Women/Non-Binary Team Most Team Spirit Fastest Mixed-Club Team (4 runners from 4 different run crews) Closest to Predicted Time Afterwards, we'll celebrate the evening at TBD, sharing drinks and stories to cap off an incredible running experience. FULL DETAILS: Date: Thursday, August 20th Race Kickoff: 7pm Check-in Begins: 6pm Route: Out and Back - with a loop around Head Island Meeting Location: Castle Island Beach, South Boston Parking: At Sullivan's Waves: TBD (expect 10-15 relay teams per heat) Afterparty: To Be Announced NOTE: **This is an unsanctioned relay race and therefore there will be no road closures. The runner is responsible at all times for their safety, as well as the safety of the other pedestrians and cyclists. In signing up for this race, the runner agrees to be smart and cautious, yielding for others as necessary, in order to create a safe and fun environment for everyone**
