Small Group Open Water Swim Clinic 2026 — Amesbury, MA

Join Coach Anne Torrez for an open water swim clinic to learn all you need to know to be ready for your triathlon or open water event! We will cover skills including efficient sighting, "seeding" strategy, managing race anxiety/panic in the water, simulation of race start, surging, passing, cornering buoys, drafting and swimming in crowded/choppy waters. Open to all open water experience levels. For safety reasons, you must be able to swim ~100 yards comfortably without stopping (any stroke, no pace requirements). In the small group format, we're able to go deeper on skills that participants want to work on, and provide more individual feedback for each swimmer. Skills covered will include sighting efficiently, cornering/turning, race entries and exits, stroke technique, pacing, swimming close to others, surging/passing and more. If desired, swimmers will receive individual feedback about technique/form while in the water. Personal swim buoys are REQUIRED for this event. Please bring: swimsuit/goggles/cap swim buoy water/hydration Optional: Wetsuit - bring if desired, or if you plan to use a wetsuit in your event sandals/towel/dry clothes for after suggested Inclement Weather date : Clinic will go on in the rain. If we are experiencing inclement weather or dangerous conditions, we will determine a makeup date that works for the group, or provide refunds. Poor water quality plan: If water quality tests fail the week of the clinic, clinic location may be changed or clinic may be rescheduled. Refund policy: If clinic is cancelled with no rescheduled date, a makeup date will be offered. If clinic must be rescheduled, due to unforeseen circumstances including weather, an option to attend the reschedule date or a refund less administrative/processing fees may be provided at the discretion of the event organizers. No refunds can be given if clinic location changes due to unforseen circumstances such as water quality. If clinic must be completely cancelled by organizers due to low registration or other unforseen circumstances, a refund less the Runsignup processing fees will be provided. No refunds will be provided if participants do not show up at the clinic, or if your plans change and you are unable to make the clinic. An option to attend a makeup clinic may be offered on a case by case basis, with 48 hours or more notice.
