Honoring a Hero's Legacy: General Thaddeus Kosciuszko was a Polish, Lithuanian, and American hero. His unwavering committment to liberty, freedom, and equality during Polish and Lithuanian Uprisings and the American Revolutionary War, has impacted generations. We invite you to be a part of the Kosciuszko Freedom Run, where we pay tribute to his remarkable contributions and continue his legacy. Play a role in carrying it forward! Date: Sunday, September 20, 2026 Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Location: C&O Canal National Historic Park (Great Falls, MD) Event Highlights: 5K Run: A challenge for adults to embrace their inner athlete and celebrate freedom. Kids' 1K Fun Run: A joyful dash for the young ones, instilling the spirit of pursuit. Registration is free and each participant will be awarded a special medal as well as a souvenir – a token of appreciation for their participation. Thaddeus Kosciuszko's journey traversed continents, his impact left an indelible mark. He was a military genius, a statesman, and an advocate for liberty. His legacy lives on and inspires transatlantic cooperation and principles. He passed away in 1817. Kosciuszko Freedom Run is hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C., the Embassy of Lithuania in Washington, D.C., and the Montgomery County Road Runners Club.
