9/11 Run to Remember 5K 2026 — Cartersville, GA

Please plan to join us for the 6th Annual running of the 9/11 Run to Remember 5K, held in solemn remembrance of the VERY SPECIAL 25th Anniversary of the events and tragedy of September 11th attacks. On Saturday morning, September 12th, 2026, the streets of Downtown Cartersville, GA will once again become a place of reflection, unity, and gratitude. This year marks 25 years since that fateful morning that forever changed our nation. The “9/11 Run to Remember” 5K stands as a tribute to the herculean courage and selfless sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call without hesitation, as well as to the lives lost and the families forever impacted. Produced in conjunction with the Cartersville Fire Department and the Cartersville Police Department, this meaningful community event brings together runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all ages to honor the legacy of bravery that emerged from unimaginable tragedy. Participants will experience a powerful post-race program at 9:11 AM including the presentation of the colors by the Cartersville Fire Department Honor Guard...A moving tribute that sets the tone for a morning of remembrance and respect. As you make your way through the course, you will be running not just for fitness or competition—but in celebration of the lives that gave so much and in gratitude for those who continue to serve our communities every day. You must register by this date to guarantee your T-shirt size and lock in at the reduced rate!) *$40 Race Day Registration Fee 5K Start-Finish & Race Day Parking: *Both the Starting Line AND the Finish Line are located in downtown Cartersville in Friendship Plaza adjacent to the Downtown Gazebo. *Race Day Parking will be located in and around the Bartow County Courthouse located at 135 West Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, GA. Race Route (See attached Route Map): • From the Starting Line in Friendship Plaza, runners make a left turn onto Cherokee Ave. followed by a quick right turn onto Erwin St. *Runners proceed approx. 1.25 miles on Erwin St. turning right onto Cassville Rd. • Runners will proceed approx. .15 miles along Cassville Road to the entrance of the Cartersville Fire Department Station #1. • Runners will turn right, running THROUGH Station #1 (where they will be greeted by throngs of cheering Firefighters and First Responders!) circling the back parking lot and returning to Cassville Rd. • Runners will turn left onto Cassville Rd. proceeding .15 miles back to the intersection of Erwin St. • Runners will turn left onto Erwin St. proceeding South approx. 1.25 miles to the intersection of Cherokee Ave. • Runners will turn left Cherokee Ave for 1 block, turning right back into Friendship Plaza to the Finish Line! Church St., Suite 107, Cartersville, GA 30120 (located on the East side of US 41 in the shopping center directly behind Chick-fil-A and next door to Moe’s.)
