Join us for the Team CHD - Illinois Annual Walk Sunday, May 17th, 2026 - Rain or Shine The Promenade Bolingbrook Nearly 40,000 infants in the U.S. are born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) every year. CHD is the most common birth defect and the leading cause of infant death due to birth defects. Team CHD-Illinois is a non-profit with a mission to uplift and comfort patients and their families during their CHD journey We are accomplishing this through collaboration with patients, parents, providers, and partner organizations to improve quality and outcomes through CHD education, support, research, and awareness. We are unique in our approach – encompassing the lifespan, encouraging transparency, and meeting families where they are. Our volunteer team has supported local heart families in Illinois since 2011, through comfort care bags/kits, bereavement boxes, support meetings, family fun events, and so much more.
