13th Annual Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education – Washington, DC 2026

Mark your calendars for the 13th annual Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This event, hosted by the Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF), honors the 40th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® founder Norma E. Boyd’s passing. Norma E. Boyd, born on August 9, 1888, was a native Washingtonian dedicated to educational and humanitarian pursuits for children throughout her 97 years of life. She was an incorporator and founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® and a charter member of the Xi Omega Chapter. Since 2013, the Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education has raised over $118,000, directly supporting PIEF's mission to provide college scholarships for District of Columbia high school students.
