4th Annual Amblebrook 5K Race and Fun Walk – Gettysburg, PA 2026

Lace up your sneakers and join us for our 4th Annual 5K and Fun Walk, supporting this year’s beneficiary, Neighborhood Emergency Aid Response (NEAR). NEAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2022 to provide rapid emergency assistance within the Amblebrook community. When a medical emergency occurs, every second matters. While Amblebrook is served by the regional 911 system—including Adams Regional Emergency Medical Services (AREMS), the Gettysburg Fire Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police—the large coverage areas for these services can sometimes lead to longer response times. NEAR was created to help bridge that gap. When you dial 911, NEAR is dispatched at the same time as the ambulance. As a Pennsylvania EMS-certified Quick Response Service (QRS), NEAR volunteers are often able to arrive quickly to provide critical care until professional emergency responders arrive.
