Andy Payne 1/2 Marathon, 5K, Fun Run and Virtual Run – Claremore, OK 2026

The Andy Payne Rt 66 Half Marathon, 5K, Fun Run and Virtual Run honors Cherokee Nation citizen Andy Payne, who won the International Trans-Continental Footrace, commonly referred to at the Bunion Derby, in 1928. The race covered a total of 3,423 miles along Route 66 from Los Angeles to New York City. This year's 1/2 Marathon will start at the Andy Payne Memorial Park and end at the Claremore Museum of History (MoH). The 5K will start at Claremore Lake and likewise end at the MoH. The Fun Run will occur at the Andy Payne Race Track at Claremore High School. The Awards Ceremony at the MoH will be a fun-filled event with free massages for runners, nutritious drinks, food trucks, selfie spots, popcorn, snacks and more! Visitors can view the Andy Payne Exhibit inside and take a photo with the Andy Payne statue in our new Legacy Gardens.
