The 50th Annual Bayou City Classic 10K and 5k Fun Run March 6, 2027 The 50th running of the Bayou City Classic 10K, Texas' oldest 10K race, will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027 at 8AM (Wheel start is 7:50AM). The 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:20AM (Wheel start is 8:15AM). The event takes place in the heart of downtown Houston (Hermann Square adjacent to City Hall). This is a family-friendly, all-inclusive event. We invite EVERYONE to participate. Wheelchair/Pushrim participants are welcomed and encouraged. Proceeds from the Bayou City Classic are donated to the Houston Parks & Recreation Department to improve our city parks and preserve our trees. This non-profit event is organized by the Houston Area Road Runners Association ( HARRA ) , an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote running as a competitive sport and a healthful exercise. The race has donated over $250,000 for the Parks over the previous eight years!
