There's nothing like the thrill of running through crisp winter air, surrounded by fellow runners, with the finish line in sight. Whether you're a seasoned runner or joining for the first time, the Betsie Bay Frozen 5K is the perfect way to embrace winter and get moving. Known for its frosty conditions and gusts off Lake Michigan-making it's true test for "crazy" winter adventurers. Despite the chilly weathers, the race is a fun and community driven event that welcomes participants of all ages and paces. Proceeds go to benefit Benzie County Youth Initiative. https://www.growbenzie.org/benzieareayouth Awards will be given to top place overall and top three in each age category. 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80 and up. All participants receive a lightweight hoodie, a commemorative bib, a finishers medal and a coupon for $2 off a StormCloud beer! Packet pick up takes place at the American Legion in Frankfort on Friday, February 13 from 4PM until 6PM and again on race day from 8:30AM until 9:30AM. Busing to the start will be provided by Frankfort Area Schools and Benzie Bus. Buses will run from 9:10AM until 9:40AM to ensure enough time to get everyone to the start line. Participants can be dropped off at the start, using the parking lot of Furnace Street Distillery. Vehicles will not be allowed to drive to the overlook on race morning due to start line staging. Bag drop will be available at the Legion on race morning. Donated gifts from our community partners will randomly be given away to registered participants on race day.
