Bizz Johnson’s Southside Scramble – Susanville, CA 2026

Are you ready to SCRAMBLE? This amazing new trail race showcases the best of the Susan River Canyon! Runners will head up the Bizz Johnson Trail from Hobo Camp for the first half and return via the beautiful and flowy singletrack on the Southside trail across the river. The Southside Scramble has 3 different distances to choose from, a 22K, a 14K, and a 7K. All races start and end at the Hobo Camp Day Use Area. On ODD years, we will run a reversed course! For 2025, all races go out the Southside Trail and back on the Bizz Johnson Trail. For the Dirty Devil's 22K, runners start on the Fire Road above the Hobo Camp Day Use Area and take the "outbound" portion of the Bizz Johnson Trail approximately 6 miles all the way to Devil's Corral. From Devil's Corral, runners turn and drop down to the Susan River, crossing over a seasonal foot bridge, and enter the stunningly beautiful Southside trail with its rockslides, vista points, and flowy single track all the way back to Hobo Camp.
