WHY WALK or RUN? CASA of Midwest Kentucky, Inc. has been advocating for child victims who find themselves entangled in the child welfare system when their parents can’t or won’t care for them. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to get to know the child’s situation and offer objective, informed recommendations about what services and outcomes are in his/her best interest. Our program currently has trained advocates serving children in Hopkins, Henderson, Crittenden, Union, Muhlenberg and Webster Counties. Over 728 children needed our services last year and we were able to help 144 of them! Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes. WHERE? We will host the CASA Superhero 5K and Walk this year at Mahr Park in Madisonville to ensure we can continue serving all children referred to our program.
