The Chris Klug Foundation is proud to be a charity partner for the 2026 Cape Town Marathon as it bids to become an Abbott World Major Marathon. This year, five individuals will have the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for our mission to eliminate the wait for a transplant. We work across the United States, educating and inspiring individuals to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. Alongside this, we work to show the world what is made possible due to the gift of life through giving recipients, donors, and supporters a platform to make the impossible possible post-transplant. The foundation was started in 2003 by an Olympic Bronze Medalist after a liver transplant saved his life. Chris received his transplant in 2000 thanks to the courageous decision made by the donor and their family.
