Run, walk, or jog in the 15th annual Daily News Press Run to support the Newspapers In Education program on Saturday, October 31, 2026 . Featuring certified Galveston Causeway 5K and 10K courses, a Kid's 1K sponsored by Whataburger, a book character costume contest, dozens of vendor booths, music, food, and much more. We have a big event planned for you! Support Newspapers in Education The Daily News Press Run provides support to the Newspapers in Education program (NIE). NIE provides resources that use the newspaper to develop reading comprehension skills, critical thinking, and a better understanding of the way the world relates to the classroom. We have a waiting list of teachers who want to join and need your help to make the program a success for the upcoming school year. Parking Information Runners' parking is available at Target Parking Lot 6128 Broadway, Galveston, TX 77551. Shuttle buses will run from 5:00 am to noon. Please allow yourself ample time to get checked in and warm
