89th East Texas Yamboree Tater Trot Family 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run Saturday, October 10 | 7:30 AM Gilmer High School (Admin Building) 850 Buffalo Street Gilmer, Texas 75644 Kick off your East Texas Yamboree with one of Gilmer's favorite traditions! The 89th Annual East Texas Yamboree Tater Trot welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to participate in a fun, family-friendly event that celebrates community, fitness, and one of East Texas' most beloved festivals. Choose between our professionally chip-timed 5K or the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and experience one of East Texas' classic neighborhood race courses. Known for its rolling hills, the Tater Trot offers a rewarding challenge for competitive runners while remaining a fun, family-friendly event for participants of all ages. A water station will be available along the course, and post-race refreshments—including fresh coffee provided by Cozy Coffee Station —will be waiting at the finish line. Make it even more fun by creating a team with your family, friends, or coworkers! Whether you're racing for bragging rights or simply enjoying the morning together, teams make the Tater Trot even more memorable. Costumes are always encouraged —we love seeing participants show off their creativity and Yamboree spirit! The overall male and female 5K champions will each receive a $200 gift basket . Award ribbons will also be presented to the 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in each age division. Every participant will receive a commemorative finisher's medal . Register early! A commemorative race T-shirt is guaranteed for all pre-registered participants. A limited number of additional shirts will be available on race day while supplies last.
