This special race honors the legacy of Coach Ed Levy, a highly respected educator, administrator, and Track & Field coach. Despite being unable to run due to a childhood illness, Coach Ed Levy dedicated his life to coaching and empowering athletes—especially women and immigrant athletes—to reach their full potential. From 1991 until his passing in 2001, he served as the head coach of the New York Pioneer Club, shaping the lives of countless runners through his leadership and passion for the sport. This event is more than a race—it's a celebration of resilience, inclusion, and the transformative power of sports.
