This is the short, fast, unserious way to start a year — a paved sprint over the Bridgeway Station Bridge and out along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, done before most people have finished their first cup of coffee. Bring the dog, bring the pack, bring whoever you convinced to sign up on December 31st. Two miles is an honest distance. It is long enough that going out too hard will cost you, and short enough that there is no hiding and no recovering — whatever pace you pick in the first quarter mile is roughly the pace you are going to live with. That makes for a genuinely fun race to watch and a genuinely uncomfortable one to run well, which is the point. Afterward, stick around for music and a post-race party where you can groove, paw-ty, and celebrate with your pack. Race Day Details What Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk When Saturday, January 2, 2027 — 9:00 AM start Where Bridgeway Station, Simpsonville, SC Address 1000 Via Corso Avenue, Simpsonville, SC 29681 Packet Pickup Begins one hour before the race at our green arch and tent. You can register from your mobile device right up until the gun goes off. Time Limit 45 minutes. Course One hundred percent paved and super speedy, with only one itty-bitty hill at the very end — which you will have plenty of time to think about on the way out. The route winds over the iconic Bridgeway Station Bridge and along the connecting paths of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It is an out-and-back, so stay to the right on your way out and back and you will keep the traffic flowing for everyone. View Course Map → Parking Right at Bridgeway Station, and free. Your car will be within 100 meters of all the action and the start/finish line, so there is no long walk in and no long walk out.
