The Hickory Hustle 5K & 10K Run and Kids Run is back for 2026! Join us in Colfax, Indiana during Ole Hickory Days beginning with a fish fry on Friday, July 31st and continuing Saturday, August 1st, 2026. The 5K and 10K on Saturday, August 1st begins at 8:30am and includes a Kids Run beginning at 9:00am. All participants who sign up by July 12th are guaranteed a shirt. The theme of the race this year is in memory of Joe Buedel, a long time resident of Colfax, an Elder and Youth Leader at Colfax Christian Church and a member of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT. Joe had been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) which is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and in July of 2025, after a long fight with ALS, Joe went home to be with his Lord and Savior. The Fire Department wants to bring awareness to ALS and support the Buedel family, specifically his wife who survives him. The Fire Department
