So come join us and earn your 14th anniversary Hokie Bird finisher medal. We have live bands, beautiful scenery, terrific race support, and some awesome race swag! Race Info You can register for the 2026 Hokie Half Marathon & 5k on this website or by mailing a hard copy form to RunAbout Sports. The Hokie Half Marathon is limited to 2000 participants and the Hokie 5K is limited to 500 runners and walkers. Race Start Time: 7:30 am for the half marathon and 8:00 am for 5K. The average temperature at the start time: 55 degrees. The average temperature at 10 am: 61 degrees. Registration Fees Online Registration Closes 09/18/26 at 7pm. Paper forms will be accepted until 8 pm on 9/19/2026 at packet pickup at the University Mall. We do allow the transfer of your bib number to someone else as long as it is done by September 14th, 2026. We will allow transfers to next year. You have until September 13th, 2026 to transfer. Then there is no refund for the difference. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. HOKIE HALF MARATHON AWARDS Overall Male and Female Awards: 1st place male and female: $500 2nd place male and female: $300 3rd place male and female: $200 Age Group Awards - Awards will be given to the top three male and female half-marathon finishers in each of the following age divisions: 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-over. Age group awards will NOT BE mailed. Pick up at the awards table by the finish line. Half Marathon Finisher Awards – All finishers of the Half Marathon (excluding the “no medal” option) will receive a Hokie Bird Half Marathon finishers medal. Hokie Half finisher medals will not be mailed for non-virtual participants. HOKIE 5K AWARDS Awards will be given to the top three in male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 8 & under, 9–12, 13–17, 18–23, 24–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70 & over. Only those who register for the 5k finisher medal will receive one upon completion.
