The Kiwanis Club of Baxter and Sertoma Club is proud to continue the tradition of this beautiful and exciting triathlon. The Brainerd Lakes area has long been a great vacation destination and have one of the premier Sprint Triathlons. The Lakes Country Triathlon continues to build into one of the best triathlons in the state. We hope you will enjoy the great bike course that is over the river and through the woods. It is a beautiful ride with very little traffic. COURSE The race begins with a 1/4-mile swim in quiet Whipple Lake (known for its calm waters), then switches to a 13.6-mile bike through the rolling hills surrounding the Baxter/Brainerd Lakes area and ends with a very flat 3.2 mile run through a quiet residential area. The Lakes Country Triathlon is a great race for beginners or seasoned veterans. All cyclists must observe Minnesota traffic laws. Bike certified hard-shelled helmets are required.
