Come out to Switchyard Park to support breast cancer awareness and support services for breast cancer patients and survivors. During the entire month of October, we will Paint the Town Pink! Local businesses can sign up to get their windows painted pink with ribbons and breast cancer awareness messages. Cancer Support Community is partnering with the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation department, IU Health, and IU School of Medicine to provide resources and educational material to local businesses. Awareness Saves Lives—Melody Martin started the Breast Cancer Awareness walk over 25 years ago, because she believed had she gotten her diagnosis sooner, her outcome may have been different. We remember and honor Melody's mission in life—to empower women to identify breast cancer sooner, to have the best chance of survival.
