The Plainfield Salute the Troops 5K takes place November 7, 2026, in Central Village, Connecticut, at 105 Putnam Road. The event offers two running distances: a 1-mile option and a 1.3-mile option, making it accessible for runners of varying fitness levels. The race starts at 9:30 AM. Entry fees range from $10 to $30, providing an affordable option for athletes looking to support the event's mission. Whether you're training for a longer race or prefer a shorter distance effort, this event gives you flexibility in choosing your distance while participating in a community-focused gathering.

From the Race Organizer
Run for fun, run to challenge yourself, or run in honor of a veteran. This fun race is hosted by Plainfield Recreation to honor and support our military troops and veterans. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the local VFW, American Legion, and Veteran's Coffeehouse. Beginning at 9:15am with the National Anthem, the Fun Run will then take off at 9:30am. The Soldier Stroll and 5K will follow starting at 10:15am with the walkers to start in back of the runners. The route will begin and end at Plainfield High School and follow a route that moves through the athletic fields, Shepard Hill Elementary, and a small neighborhood. Both races are intended for all abilities and skill levels.
