2026 PPTC Al Goldstein Speed Series 5Ks DUE TO THE EXTREME HEAT FORECAST, THE JULY 1 AGSS RACE IS CANCELLED. ALL RACE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE JULY 15 RACE. ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SERIES MEDAL WILL REQUIRE THE COMPLETION OF 6 RATHER THAN 7 RACES. We are pleased to announce the return of the PPTC Al Goldstein Speed Series for 2026. As always, seven races are scheduled on alternating Wednesday evenings: May 20, June 3, June 17, July 1, July 15, July 29, August 12 and August 26 (RAIN DATE MAKE UP). We will have a race on August 26 due to the cancellation of the May 20 race. What is a Series Bib? It means you can run all of the races this summer, you keep your bib and do not have to re-register for each race. If you are able to make all 7 races, participants earn a special medal! Finally, if a race has not sold out in advance , you may do walk-in registration in-person on race day at Race Central for $15 credit from 6:15 to 7 pm. "Rain Date" Race on August 26 : If inclement weather results in a race cancellation, Race Directors will hold a make-up race on Wed, August 26. If you would like to obtain the 7-race Series medal and a race is cancelled, you will need to participate in the race on August 26 make-up date to complete the race series and get the medal. Early Bib Pick-up on Tue May 19 : Don't stress, pick up your bib early at Brooklyn Running Co (480 Bergen St) on Tue 5/19, 4-6:30 pm! You can also pick up your bib at the first race from 6:15 pm. New Team Scoring Pilot : Team competition is coming to the Al Goldstein Speed Series! This year, runners can compete not just as individuals but as part of a mixed-gender team, with scoring based on a cross-country style format. For each race, a team’s top five finishers ( at least 2 female or non-binary runners, and no more than 3 male runners ) will combine their places for a total score, with the lowest score taking the win. You should check our website regularly as details are subject to change, pending NYC Parks and local government regulations. Registration You can purchase a series bib that is used for all 7 races. The entry fee for individual races is $12.50 each when registering online in advance. If the race hasn't sold out , the Day-of-Race registration fee is $15, and you can register online or on-site at Race Central. If you register on-site, you may pay by credit card (via registration on your phone), available from 6:15 - 7 pm on the evening of the race. Online registration for each race will open 2 weeks in advance and close at 12 noon on race day. Registration for race 1 (5/20) will open 3 weeks in advance on 4/29. The season bib allows you to run in any or all of the 7 races while only registering once. If you register for individual races, you can only register for 1 race at a time . A new registration is required for each race. Apologies, but we will not offer bib transfers or refunds . Due to liability reasons, we cannot allow strollers or pets. Prospect Park Track Club welcomes athletes with all abilities. As a courtesy, we ask that runners who need Achilles guides or other special equipment please start at the middle or back of the pack, or message us for an early race start time. Race Day Logistics & Amenities Races start on East Drive at Center Drive, approximately 1/4 mile north of the Concert Grove Pavilion and the East Drive finish line located at Harry's Wall.** Bib pickup and Bag Check : Located at the Concert Grove Pavilion near Harry’s Wall. Bathrooms are available at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside on the cafe side. There are also public restrooms at East Lake Drive near the Lincoln Road entrance, but in recent weeks they have been closed at the time of race.
