The Red S.H.O.E. (Self-Care, Healthy Options & Exercise) 5K Walk/Run is proudly sponsored by the Athens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, an organization of college-educated women committed to empowering communities through public service, scholarships, and social action. On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Athens Alumnae Chapter will host its inaugural Red S.H.O.E. 5K Run/Walk, a community-centered, fun-filled event designed to promote physical and mental health and wellness. This event invites participants from Athens and the surrounding areas to engage in self-care, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular physical activity. Research has shown that both running and walking have a positive impact on overall physical and mental well-being, and we are excited to offer an opportunity that celebrates both health and community connection.
