The Run for the House is a family-friendly USATF-Certified competitive 5K and non-competitive 1 Miler. Registered participants receive a race shirt, medal, swag bag. After the run, join us at Sam Houston Park for the After Party. Take a selfie with Santa, create awesome crafts, play fun games, refuel with delicious food and drinks, and see if you won an award! 7AM - On Site Registration 8AM - 8:15AM - Races begin 8:45-10AM - After Party WHY WE RUN: To support families with children receiving care in the Medical Center for a serious illness or injury. We provide a home away from home for these families. Founded in 1978, the mission of RMHC Greater Houston is to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. We serve children and families at four locations: Holcombe House - 70 Bedrooms Texas Children's Hospital - 19 Bedrooms Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital - 20 Bedrooms MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital - 2 Bedrooms In addition to our Houses, RMHC Greater Houston also has a CareMobile that goes to local communities to provide immunizations and well checks for school aged children.
