Shine A Light On Stroke – Newark, DE 2026

We are two Delaware Occupational and Speech Therapists who are planning the 3rd Annual Stroke Awareness 5k Run/Walk event. We have identified a need for support and awareness in our community for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Our hope is to connect this wonderful community with local businesses and resources to shed a light on this important cause. Proceeds from this race will go towards supporting our foundation's financial grant that is available to anyone living within the state of Delaware, to be used for any stroke related care not covered by insurance. Some costs that the grant covers include but are not limited to: adaptive clothing, adaptive equipment to improve safety and quality of life, mobility related DME, transportation to and from appointments, speech generating devices, and thickener secondary to dysphagia.
