WHAT IS A TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K RUN & WALK? The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11,2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! For more information on the Tunnel to Towers Foundation please visit www.t2t.org HOW FAR IS A TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K RUN & WALK? This family event is a 5K (3.1 miles). It is 2 laps of a marked course within the park that you are welcome to walk or run. WHEN/WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY PACKET? Packets can be picked up prior to the race day: Thursday, November 12th from 11am-6pm Sacramento Running Company 2673 21st Street, Sacramento CA 95818 PLEASE NOTE: Packets WILL NOT be mailed if not picked up CAN I REGISTER THE DAY OF THE RUN? Yes, same day registration will be available. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed without advanced registration. The registration price will increase for those who wait to register. WHEN DOES THE ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSE? Online registration will remain open until the event starts (Price increases on day of event) WHERE IS THE STARTING LINE LOCATED IN THE PARK? Our start/finish line and Vendor Village will be located near Freeport Blvd and 14th Avenue. IS THIS A TIMED EVENT? Yes, Capital Road Race Management will be assisting with their timing services. Are there race t-shirts? Yes, all participants who register before October 26th, 2026 will receive an event T-shirt. Anybody who registers after that will receive a shirt as supplies last. IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE EVENT? No, we do not provide transportation to and from the event. IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE? Yes, there are parking spots located along the perimeter of the park as well as several parking lots within walking distance. No parking will be available within the park. DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY BIB? Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment. Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. I AM A FAST RUNNER. CAN I GET A FRONTLINE POSITION? Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front. (Arrive early) WILL WATER BE AVAILABLE? Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the park. WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE EVENT? CAN I RUN WITH A STROLLER, BACKPACK, WHEELCHAIR, ROLLER BLADES, DOGS, BICYCLE, ETC.? Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items. IF I HAVE A BACKPACK, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT? Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. They must present a copy of your registration receipt. And don't forget to thank them! CAN I STILL DONATE TO A TEAM AND/OR INDIVIDUAL AFTER THE START OF THE RACE? Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event. HOW CAN MY COMPANY/ORGANIZATION SPONSOR THIS EVENT?
