The Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest starts at 7:30 AM, so plan your hotel stay accordingly if you're flying into Honolulu. This running event takes place at 150 Kaʻiulani on August 14, 2026, and is free to enter. The volunteer registration format means you'll be participating as part of the event staff rather than as a traditional race competitor. If you're traveling to support the event or want to experience it hands-on, book accommodation within easy driving or transit distance of the venue in central Honolulu. An early arrival day gives you time to handle logistics and adjust to Hawaiian time before the morning start.

Join us as a volunteer for the Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest! We're looking for enthusiastic team members to support this exciting event. Volunteer responsibilities include distributing competitor shirts, delivering (walking) supplies to and from the event office and event sites, supporting merchandise sales, preparing swag bags, organizing awards, conducting on site surveys, and providing general assistance to our administrator and director. We offer two shifts daily to fit your schedule: Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – Noon Afternoon Shift: Noon – 4:30 PM Select your preferred day and time when registering. All volunteers receive a commemorative shirt and complimentary lunch as our thank you for your support!
