The Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour takes place at Heritage Port in Wheeling, West Virginia on May 30, 2027. This cycling event offers three distance options to suit different fitness levels: a 100K Ultra, a 50K Ultra, and a 5K. The race starts at 7:30 AM, giving riders an early morning departure. Entry fees range from $20 to $35 depending on the distance selected. Whether you're training for an ultra-distance event or looking for a shorter recreational ride, this tour provides a structured cycling experience along the heritage trail system in the Wheeling area.

The Ohio Valley Trail Partners presents the 20th annual tour of the Wheeling Heritage Trail on Sunday, May 30th. The cycling festivities is held at the Heritage Port in Wheeling, 1201 Water Street, Wheeling, WV 26003. T-Shirts are an extra $15 for sizes Small to 2X-Large. E-bikes are allowed for the event, both on and off the trail portions of the ride. While riding on the trail, as for all cyclists, E-bike cyclists are required to abide by all rules of the trail and ride responsibly, especially in regards to maintaining a safe and acceptable speed while riding among non-E-bike cyclists and passing pedestrians or runners on the trail. Schedule: 7:00-9:00 AM - Packet Pickup 7:30 AM - 100K Bicycle Tour Starts 8:30 AM - 50K Bicycle Tour Starts 9:00 AM - 15K Bicycle Tour Starts 12:30 PM - Live Entertainment at the Tough As Nails Event The 100km (62 miles) ride will leave the Heritage trail for a hilly loop on country roads with a stop at Bethany College. It is a challenging ride with great SAG support. Snack and water stops will keep riders hydrated on both the 50km and 100km rides. Every participant is required to wear a helmet. Entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. We ride rain or shine! All riders will enjoy a post ride lunch (included with registration cost) with live entertainment as the Tough As Nails Event will begin at 12 noon on Sunday. The 2027 Wheeling Heritage Trail Tour is made possible by our generous sponsors and by thousands of volunteer hours by members of the Ohio Valley Trail Partners and residents of the Ohio Valley. Money raised by this event supports expansion and care for the Wheeling Heritage Trail, trail projects, and trail equipment and continued advocacy for bike/pedestrian connections in our local community.
