Set against the backdrop of Newport’s unmatched early-summer energy and iconic coastal scenery, this event delivers fast racing, ocean views, and a truly memorable way to kick off the season. Whether it’s your first triathlon or you’re a seasoned competitor, this race is designed to be welcoming, exciting, and true to the spirit of coastal New England. Athletes will take on a classic sprint-distance course that showcases some of the most scenic and historic terrain in coastal Rhode Island. The race begins with a 0.33 mile protected swim inside the calm Fort Adams cove beside the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. From there, athletes head out on an 11.6 mile bike ride along the world-famous Ocean Drive, featuring rolling terrain, nonstop ocean vistas, and classic Newport landmarks.
